About the role

Based at Wellington, we are looking for experienced Cement Drivers to be available to work across a 5 + half day roster.

Reporting to the Depot Manager, you will be accountable for ensuring the mixing, inspection and delivery of cement is carried out in a manner which promotes quality and reliability of the product.

  • Operating vehicles to its specifications
  • Transferring cement from silos to bagging operation, Operating bagging plant and stacking cement bags;
  • Operating forklift;
  • Loading and unloading trucks carrying bagged and bulk bagged cement;
  • Unloading bulk bags of cement into the de-bagger equipment;
  • Baling empty bags using the baler machine and loading bales into rubbish skip
  • Operating sweeper equipment to minimise the dust in the environment;
  • Preparing silos for ships discharge;
  • Connecting and disconnecting discharge hoses from ships.
  • Discharging cement from the rail pods into to the Sockburn cement silos.
  • Assisting with discharging of cement from the contingency tankers into customer silos and or the silos at Sockburn Depot.

About you:

  • Car (Class One) Licence
  • Forklift (F) Endorsement
  • Heavy Combination (Class 5) Licence
  • Deliver product in a timely manner to site by the most appropriate legally allowable route to meet customer expectations
  • Strong commitment to safety, health & environmental responsibilities
  • Front end loader ticket would be very beneficial
  • Previous experience in concrete industry is an advantageous
  • Customer service focus
  • Strong communication skills
